Commonly Asked Support Questions (March 2016)

1 April 2016 Posted in: Uncategorized Tagged: By: Rume Begum

Here are the questions that were most commonly asked on the Helpdesk during the March 2016.

Question 1: My student cannot access my module and I do not seem to be able to enrol him. Can you help?

Answer 1: Yes. You will need to search for the student within the ‘enrolled users’ area as the student may already be enrolled onto the course but not have a role assigned to them. In which case you will need to enrol them onto the course, see our guide for more information.

However, if this is not the case, please raise a ticket with HelpDesk.

Question 2: I have added the course ID for my course but my students do not appear to be enrolled automatically via SITS. When will they be given access?

Answer 2: If the course ID entered is correct and is within SITS then students should be enrolled onto the course the following day. Please check to see if the course ID exists within SITS and has been entered correctly.

Question 3: My student has submitted their assignment yesterday and I was able to view their assignment however it appears to be missing today. Do you know what may have happened? Can you retrieve the assignment?

Answer 3: The assignment has been deleted and if it was deleted via QMplus then you will be able to check the course logs and find out who deleted the assignment. Also, HelpDesk can ask Turnitin to reinstate the deleted assignment.

Question 4: The dashboard on my landing page keeps spinning and I am unable to access it. Can you please fix it?

Answer 4: The issue has now been fixed as part of the March release and the dashboard should be working as normal. If you are still experiencing problems accessing the dashboard then please raise a ticket.

Question 5: What items have been fixed as part of the March release?

Answer 5: You can view a list of all the items that have been resolved in the March release by clicking here.
